WordPress Developer

Job Description

We are seeking WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills, understanding of server and website performance optimisation. The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and WordPress architecture. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.

• Responsibilities

Maintain and update our RunCloud Hub plugin.

Maintain and update RunCloud WordPress-powered sites.

Contribute to the WordPress-related ecosystem and offerings in RunCloud.

Create and customise WordPress themes and plugins.

Provide technical support to customers in regards to WordPress-related issues.

• Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of working experience as a WordPress Developer or equivalent software engineering roles.

Experience building custom WordPress plugin and theme, and has a portfolio to show examples.

Solid understanding of WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SAAS, AJAX.

Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).

Experience in building WordPress plugin that handle server side optimisation; cache plugin, backup plugin or something similar.

Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.

Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.

Knowledge of code versioning tools especially Git.

Familiarity with Linux is a plus.

Understanding of SEO principles and ensuring our websites adhere to them.

Proactive and highly organised, with strong time management and planning skills.

Analytical, with the ability to interpret information, news, data and research quickly.

Excellent communications skills, the ability to present ideas in a clear and concise way.

Ability to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.

A roll-up-your-sleeves team player who is ready to learn and is always open and receptive to feedback.

Candidate should be able to work in Tamarind Square, Cyberjaya.
