If you are looking to grow in an exciting career filled with opportunities and potential, we are seeking a professional to join our team as Wintel Engineer. In this role, you will provide operations support, implementation, and support communications for Great Eastern Wintel infrastructure.

The Role:

• Provide SME support for Wintel operations
• Be part of the team to ensure the day-to-day operations and activities (e.g. Wintel technical support, Wintel administration, patching) are performed in an orderly and timely manner
• Provide technical support for GE Wintel & VM Infrastructure (administration, ensuring availability, maintenance and reliability)
• Responsible and accountable to manage and maintain systems that run on Wintel platform in various versions of Windows and VMWare.
• Plan and implement change request in accordance with the change process and business requirements
• Deliver and implement projects according to GE standards and requirements
• Provide fault investigation, troubleshooting, resolution, recovery, and root cause analysis
• Review complex changes and upgrades in critical environments
• Ensure regular maintenance, upgrades to the infrastructure
• Plan and coordinate service requests raised to Wintel and incident issues within operational level agreement
• Work with Wintel vendors for level 3 support if required to track on reported issues
• Participate and perform engineering duties during regular DR tests as required by DR managers
• Perform patching and hardening, and coordinate with vendors for firmware upgrades
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels of organization to effectively achieve the required deliverables
• Meet the KPI set for patching, hardening ,audit resolution etc.
• Ability to use various tools including remote access technologies that is required in daily operations
• Ability to support and resolve the service, change and incident tickets in GEL environment
• Ability to identify the best possible solution at the shortest resolution time frame
• Provides the required information compile periodic capacity reports
• Participate in relevant audit resolution and audit meetings as directed.
• Ability to respond, support and resolve after office hours project activities or incident tickets as necessary
• Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
• Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
• Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices
• Other responsibilities entailed

The Person:

• Experience in Microsoft, Vmware, and Intel Platform environment
• Vmware Certified Professional, MCITP, MCSA, ITIL (added advantage)
• Experience in shell scripting
• Basic knowledge in Active Directory, DNS, monitoring tool, email engines namely Outlook
• High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
• Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
