The Vice Principal is a key leadership role within the international school, responsible for supporting the Principal in the overall administration and management of the school. The Vice Principal will assist in creating a positive learning environment, fostering academic excellence, and promoting the holistic development of students.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Principal in strategic planning, curriculum development, and implementation to ensure the school's educational objectives are met.
- Collaborate with department heads and teachers to develop and evaluate the curriculum, ensuring it aligns with international educational standards and the school's mission.
- Support the implementation of effective teaching methodologies and student assessment practices to enhance the learning outcomes.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that emphasizes respect, diversity, and academic integrity.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and faculty members to maintain effective communication and address any concerns or issues.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of teaching staff, ensuring they possess the necessary qualifications and are aligned with the school's values.
- Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to teachers, promoting their growth and ensuring their ongoing professional improvement.
- Assist in the coordination of extracurricular activities, events, and field trips, enhancing the overall student experience and engagement.
- Oversee student discipline, ensuring a fair and consistent approach while promoting a safe and secure learning environment.
- Collaborate with the Principal and other stakeholders in maintaining compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements.
Requirements:
- Post-graduated in educational fields or any related course.
- Complete knowledge of the Malaysian National Curriculum.
- Knowledge of Academic Practices & Procedural Manual (APPM) and School Operations Manual (SOM) or SOPs as may be in operation at the time.
- Knowledge of child learning methodologies, curriculum development, and implementation.
- School improvement practices and staff development techniques.
- Must have experience in an international school or as a teacher in an international school.
- Conducts oneself with integrity.
- Maintains emotional self-control.
- Works effectively with parents.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent research and report writing abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills.
- The ability to delegate tasks and provide clear instructions.
