Veterinary Clinic Staff (Veterinary Assistant & Front Office)

We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a veterinary clinic staff member. This role combines the responsibilities of both a veterinary assistant and a front office receptionist, offering a well-rounded experience in the veterinary field.

• Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians during consultations, treatments, and surgeries.

• Prepare medications and animals for surgery.

Care for warded animals.

• Maintain clinic cleanliness.

Handle various species of animals.

• Greet clients in a friendly and professional manner.

Inform veterinarians about (walk-in) emergency cases immediately.

• Answer phone calls and messages, redirecting to WhatsApp for appointments as needed.

Make appointments using the Kreloses system, assigning cases to the correct veterinarians and timing.

• Assist veterinarians by explaining medication administration to clients.

Coordinate clinic flow to ensure smooth operation and timely breaks for staff and veterinarians.

• Put up signage (open/closed signs).

Update owners on the condition of hospitalized and boarding pets according to veterinarian instructions.

• Manage client expectations and politely ask clients without appointments to wait.

Perform other duties as instructed by the employer.

• Skills Required:

Proper animal restraining skills (preferred)

• Basic pharmaceutical knowledge (preferred)

Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken in English and Malay)

• Multitasking skills

Empathy, emotional control, and a positive attitude

• The ability to follow instructions precisely

Meticulousness

• Teamwork skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Professional appearance and demeanor

• Requirements:

Diploma or certificate in animal health, animal science, or a related field (preferred)

• SPM/Diploma (minimum)

No animal or dust allergies

• No fear of animals
