Job Summary:The Testing and Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and executing the commissioning and testing activities of water and air treatment plants. This role involves the detailed inspection, testing, and validation of mechanical, electrical, and control systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and operational performance standards.
Commissioning Planning and Execution:- Develop commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures tailored to the specific requirements of water and air treatment plants.
Collaborate with design engineers, construction teams, and project managers to ensure systems are installed and functioning as per design.- Execute commissioning activities including system energization, equipment start-up, and troubleshooting.
Testing and Validation:- Perform functional tests on water and air treatment systems to ensure they meet the design performance criteria.
Conduct performance testing for various equipment such as pumps, blowers, filters, HVAC systems, and chemical dosing systems.- Verify the correct operation of control systems, including instrumentation and automation components.
System Optimization:- Identify and rectify any issues or deficiencies in system performance.
Optimize system operations to ensure maximum efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.- Work with the operations team to fine-tune system parameters for long-term reliability.
Documentation Reporting and Training:- Prepare detailed commissioning reports, including test results, performance data, and as-built documentation.
Document all commissioning and testing procedures, ensuring all activities comply with safety and quality standards.- Maintain records of any adjustments made during commissioning for future reference.
Provide training to operational and maintenance staff on system functionality, operation, and maintenance procedures.
- Facilitate a smooth handover of the plant to the operations team upon successful commissioning.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local and international standards.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in testing and commissioning of water and/or air treatment plants.
In-depth knowledge of water and air treatment technologies, including filtration, disinfection, and ventilation systems.- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
Experience with instrumentation and control systems related to treatment plants.
Frequent travel to project sites may be required.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and at heights.
Flexibility to work extended hours when needed to meet project deadlines.
