Get to Know the Role
We're seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Technology Legal Counsel to join our growing legal team. Reporting to the Head of IP, Tech-Legal, and Legal Operations, you will collaborate with other Technology Legal Counsels and business stakeholders across all levels of Grab. As part of a regional team, youll support and enhance our technology legal efforts.
The Critical Tasks You will Perform:
Product Support:
You will ensure Grab's Products comply with regulatory and contractual obligations by partnering with business, engineering, product, cybersecurity, country counsels, DPO, and privacy teams.
You will conduct due diligence on products and ensure ongoing compliance, especially around licensing for technology monetization.
You will develop and maintain product-related policies and procedures to ensure full compliance and optimization.
You will lead technology-mapping exercises and be the go-to expert for technology-related legal questions.Procurement:
You will advise on and negotiate technology procurement engagements, ensuring contract terms align with Grabs needs and interests.
You will oversee legal terms for software, cloud, SaaS, hardware, managed services, outsourcing, and emerging technologies.
You will support sell-side technology procurement negotiations, operating as a vendor.Transactions:
You will draft and negotiate technology-related transaction documents, including those tied to group M&A activities.
You will provide advice to business and corporate finance teams on technology, licensing, IP commercial, data, and regulatory matters.
You will craft technology provisions, product descriptions, and work orders by acting as a bridge between legal and technology/product teams.
Qualifications
What Skills You will Need
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience.
Compliance Knowledge: Understand regulatory and contractual rules for tech products.
Due Diligence: Experience in checking products for ongoing compliance.
Policy Development: Ability to create and maintain product policies and procedures.
Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in negotiating tech contracts (e.g., MSAs, SaaS Agreements).
Legal Expertise: Familiarity with terms for software, cloud, SaaS, hardware, and other technologies.
Transactional Knowledge: Experience in drafting and negotiating tech transaction documents.
Collaboration: Ability to work well with internal teams and communicate effectively.
Practical Advice: Provide clear advice in unclear situations and handle tasks beyond core duties.
