THIS IS AN EXTENDED APPLICATION FOR AN EXPERIENCED TEST SALES ENGINEER POSITION AND STILL OPEN:

About this role:

Working in the Sales and Marketing team, the Technical Sales Engineer is an important and high-profile position within ipTEST. You will work with every department in ipTEST, particularly the Applications, Marketing, Support and R+D teams.

With a background in Electronics, Engineering or Physics, you will manage existing customer accounts and identify and nurture new opportunities in the semiconductor manufacturing industry. You will be a driven self-starter with a passion for bringing sales opportunities to a close.

While this is a predominantly office-based role, some global travel is required (up to 25%) to visit customers and to represent ipTEST at conferences and exhibitions worldwide. Strong presentation skills and empathy with customers is essential.

There is also a practical aspect to the role and you will spend hands on time learning and using our electrical test products. To present effectively to customers you will build up a strong technical knowledge of our test capabilities and be comfortable promoting both the technical and commercial benefits of the product.

The person

A good familiarity with electrical principles is essential. The role would suit a higher diploma or graduate-level candidate in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or with equivalent experience in a Physics or Engineering discipline.

  • Masters/Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering / Physic Science or others (technical) which are equivalent with minimum 5 years working experience Or Diploma in similar Engineering with minimum 7 years in Testers Support/Maintenance or in relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Power Semiconductor Testing Equipment and familiar with Power & Mixed Signal Automated Test Equipment (ATE).

Experience in commercial / business to business sales and account management gained within an electrical test or technical sector is required and have its advantages

Familiarity with CRM and using it to drive day to day priorities and workload is essential.

Responsibilities

Account management responsibility for one of ipTEST key global customers

Sales territory responsibility for Malaysia & Asia and management of our Asia distribution partner

Prospect for new opportunities

Drive existing opportunities forward and negotiate to order close

Present product capabilities to customers, create quotations and commercial proposals based around customer requirements.
