Responsibilities -
Sourcing and Procurement
Work closely with our Technical Designers to understand their technical requirements and identify, evaluate and select suppliers for technical components and services based on quality, price, reliability and other relevant factors.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers worldwide to ensure we can source the right components at the right time.
Take ownership of the Bills of Materials (BoMs) and procurement process used within the team.
Ensure our components and services can be easily sourced in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards throughout the procurement process.
Monitor inventory levels and manage inventory turnover to minimise excess stock and maintain optimum supply levels.
Financial
Negotiate favourable terms, pricing and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
Work with the logistics team to minimise freighting and other costs from sourcing components and other services across the globe.
Review and update Bill of Materials (BoM) to ensure all costs are accounted for in all products we deliver.
Conduct cost analysis and cost-benefit evaluations to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Development
Stay informed about market trends, technological advancements, and industry best practices to make informed purchasing decisions.
Establish a Preferred Parts List (PPL) to reduce time spent evaluating new components, and reduce the variation of parts in use to increase ease of maintenance.
Identify and raise issues with stakeholders when availability of components or services could be at risk and require reforecasting or replacement.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement/optimisation and efficiency enhancement and encourage constructive suggestions for change.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience working with international suppliers in a technical procurement or supply chain role manging component sourcing and global supply chains.
Able to read and interpret technical data sheets, drawings and electrical schematics.
Working knowledge of selecting small scale mechanical, electronic and electromechanical components (e.g. servos, cables, connectors, bearings, gears etc.)
Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in the technical industry (e.g. ISO standards)
Familiarity with ERP systems and other enterprise procurement tools
A high level of specialist knowledge to solve problems related to the delivery of models to ensure safety and overall guest satisfaction.
A high level of experience being able to identify, evaluate, manage and mitigating risks with component supply and communicating these effectively to the team.
Excellent organisational skills
Have an intermediate skill set in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
