Purpose of Role- Tax Planning Manager
Responsible for overseeing an organization's tax responsibilities, ensure effective tax planning, management, control and optimization. Ensuring that the accounting processes adhere to the relevant tax regulations and local procedures. Evaluate tax documents and prepare tax returns timely and efficiently. Assess the accuracy of tax provisions and implement strategic methods to resolve taxation issues by conducting research on existing tax laws and obligations. coordinate and manage all tax matters relating to entities within the group.
Job Description:
- Developing and implementing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Preparation and review of provisional current and deferred tax computation for statutory audit purposes, and tax estimations / revisions (if any) for submission to the IRB or tax authorities.
- Preparation and review of tax computations for the submission of income tax returns to the IRB or tax authority strictly in accordance with the relevant submission due dates.
- Key liaison with the IRB and other relevant government departments on tax incentive/grants/ allowance applications, appeals and audits on tax-related matters.
- Participate and lead through in tax advisory assignments including international tax planning, transfer pricing compliance, tax incentives and applications, tax impact on corporate restructuring, cross border transactions, etc.
- Responsible for planning and implement any changes or newly enacted tax legislations and tax rulings.
Job Requirement:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant taxation experience, preferably in a Professional Service Firm
- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
- Ability to establish effective communication skills with the Inland Revenue Board, Royal Malaysian Customs Department and other relevant government departments.
- Ability to oversee and manage several simultaneous assignments.
- Strong team management, interpersonal and communication skills
