Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager (located in BC, Canada), the Strategic Sourcing Manager executes end-to-end purchasing activities for indirect goods and services including strategic sourcing, analysis, negotiations, and contract management. You'll be working on company-wide cost saving initiatives and manage the vendors in APAC.
Please note that this position is for Indirect Purchasing, not direct Purchasing for commodity sourcing.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal business units (IT, Engineering, Operations, and etc.) to identify needs and objectives to recommend suppliers capable of providing goods and services that meet requirements. This includes vetting requirements to ensure that they can be operationalized.
Negotiate with vendors to arrive at the appropriate specifications and optimal value.
Ability to structure evaluation criteria during a sourcing event to ensure an equitable and consistent approach when selecting preferred vendors.
Invite, assess, and award/recommend supplier tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals. This includes the ability to structure, design, and implement a sourcing event in the form of Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Quotations (RFQ), and Requests for Information (RFI).
Establish and negotiate contract terms and conditions, and maintain supplier relationships.
Contract management and negotiation track contracts for renewals and expiries in advance to formulate appropriate supplier engagement strategies.
Review and analyze purchase requisitions.
Total cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
Comply with and maintain knowledge of applicable rules, legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably in Mandarin.
5+ years of Strategic Sourcing experience (RFP, RFI, RFQ), preferably in high tech industries.
5+ years of experience with pricing/contract negotiation.
SCMP or other Supply Chain/Purchasing certification preferred.
Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
