What's the role
- You will manage a specific sourcing (sub)category (e.g. IT software) and strategic sourcing projects as well as develop or fine-tune a sourcing strategy for each category as appropriate.
- You will drive & influence sourcing projects along the full procurement cycle to optimize spent and improve total value for Hilti together with your stakeholders.
- Align & plan together with your internal stakeholders strategies to develop long term partnerships & supply strategies with global and regional suppliers.

Global IT within Hilti is a truly global team with main hubs in Buchs (Switzerland), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Plano/Tulsa (USA). What does the role involve

To be successful, internal stakeholder management is key and a proactive, convincing hands-on strategic mindset is required.
As a Strategic Category Manager, you are responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives within an assigned portfolio of indirect sourcing categories (mainly IT software). Specific responsibilities include development of category strategies, optimizing spend opportunities, facilitating and leading sourcing projects, supplier negotiation, tactical purchasing, and establishing & maintenance of supplier relationships. You drive the preparation and the execution together with our global IT & business project teams.

What you need is:
- Bachelor's degree / Master's in procurement, supply chain, IT, business or finance with results in upper-quartile
- 10+ years experience in procurement (strategic sourcing), supply chain, engineering, finance or project management in a multinational organization
- Experience in IT procurement/category management preferred
- Strategic mind-set with result orientation
- Strong facilitation & negotiation skills (awarding design)
- Fluent in English; other languages appreciated
- Evidence of acting as a strategic business partner through influencing and interacting with key stakeholders across a matrix organization.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to structure clear presentations and to simplify a financial message to non-finance stakeholders
- A strong business acumen and visionary mindset balanced by hands-on behavior
- A proactive approach and acting as change agent
