Responsibilities
- Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for manufacturing processes, piece-parts, BOM, automation equipment, including scope development, prototyping, and fabrication.
- Ensure deliverables, maintain safe machine design standards, and meet regulatory compliance requirements
- Work closely with process development engineers to define design specs/limits to enable robust and reliable manufacturing process
- Interface with equipment and process engineering teams to implement changes or improvement to the product designs and to facilitate transfer of designs to production
- Create and maintain control drawings for electrodes and cells; maintain SolidWorks PDM Database; Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
- Support pilot and production of final product by troubleshooting process and component problems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field
- 5 years of experience working in Engineering and Production Environment
- Fluent in mechanical design and documentation using SolidWorks 3D design tools. Experience with additional CAD tools is a plus.
- Experience in Numerical Techniques (CFD, FEA etc) for stress, thermal and fluid dynamical analysis is an added advantage
- Hands on and problem-solving experience with a variety of commercial and/or industrial automation projects and has experience designing mechanical systems and products
- Creative problem-solving and managing measured risk
- Experience using basic machine shop tools, mill, band saw, drill press, etc.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
