Sika was first established in Malaysia in 1989 and full operations commenced in 1991 through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd, with the completion of its local head office and production plant in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. Since then, the company has gained a leading position in the country with the acceptance and endorsement of its products for construction and industrial applications by local and international proponents.
In the Construction sector, our business activities cover the full spectrum of project types ranging from infrastructural development to buildings, from institutional facilities to manufacturing plants. We service our direct customers concrete producers, contractors and distributors and stay close to them through our central sales & marketing office in Petaling Jaya and a network of sales offices in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. In 2014 our presence in the Malaysian construction continued to grow when our Ipoh Plant was built and running to meet customer demands.
In Malaysia, our Industry Division is the clear market leader in the automotive glass replacement sector (AGR) and the Sikaflex brand is instantly recognized as a mark for quality, reliability and performance. In the automotive OEM sector, we are the approved supplier to top German car markets such as Mercedes Benz and BMW. Meanwhile, Sika leads the field in total bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protection solutions for bus, truck and rail vehicle manufacturing, and for the assembly of appliances, industrial equipment and building components.
Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd currently employs more than 340 people in Sales & Marketing, Technical Service, Finance, HR & Administration, Laboratory, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service and Warehouse.
Job Description
To increase the number of specifications of Sika Flooring products in tender documents produced by engineers, architects and other Specifiers through professional specifications and Value Selling of Sika products and systems.
To expand Flooring Market Share
To build a strong foundation and relation with specifiers.
To systematically approach all consulting engineers, architects, quantity surveyors and statutory boards to successfully sell flooring technical specifications of the Companys product lines.
Responsible in preparing the technical documentation and drawings (specifier guide, general specification, proposal, and specification drawing) for submission and technical consultation purpose.
Generation of flooring specifications of Companys products lines for inclusion in tender documents produced by Architects, Engineers, and other Specifiers.
To maintain and increase the Companys profile, and to promote our competitive advantage to Architects, Engineers, and other Specifiers.
Collect and pass on appropriate market information (upcoming projects, activities of the competition, project references, trends, etc)
To develop flooring business opportunities and nurture relationship with specifiers
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree preferably in Building Lines (Arch, QS, C&S Engineers, Project Management)
Min 5 Years Experience
Intermediate Level computer skills including power point presentation, excel spreadsheet and AutoCAD applications will be an added advantage.
Effective interpersonal skills, presentation, and negotiation skills
Strong organizational skills, having the ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
Fluent in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to communicate in Mandarin and/or local dialects would be an added advantage.
Self-motivated and self- initiative
Able to travel when required.
