Job Overview:The Spare Parts Manager is responsible for managing the inventory and supply of motorcycle parts and accessories, ensuring that the service center is stocked with the necessary components to support repair and maintenance activities. This role involves ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing parts, as well as maintaining accurate records and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely availability of parts.
Inventory Management:- Maintain optimal inventory levels by monitoring stock levels and ordering parts as needed.
Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.- Manage the storage and organization of parts to maximize efficiency and accessibility.
Supplier Management:- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms and ensure timely delivery of parts.
Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed, and make recommendations for improvements.Parts Ordering and Receiving:
Place orders for motorcycle parts and accessories based on inventory needs and service center demand.
- Receive, inspect, and verify the accuracy of incoming shipments, and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers.
Customer Service:
- Assist technicians and service advisors in identifying the correct parts needed for repairs.
Provide prompt and efficient service to customers purchasing parts directly from the service center.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints regarding parts availability and pricing.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all parts transactions, including orders, receipts, and sales.
Prepare regular reports on inventory status, parts usage, and supplier performance.
- Ensure all parts are labeled and cataloged correctly for easy tracking.
Cost Control:
- Monitor parts costs and work to minimize expenses without compromising quality.
Implement strategies to reduce waste and prevent overstocking or understocking.
Work closely with service center staff to understand their parts needs and support their work effectively.- Train and supervise any parts department staff, ensuring they follow company procedures and standards.
Compliance and Safety:- Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations related to inventory management and safety.
Maintain a clean and organized parts department, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma in supply chain management, business, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in parts management, inventory control, or a related field, preferably within the automotive or motorcycle industry.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift and carry heavy parts and supplies.
Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
