Job Overview
Responsible for sourcing and supplier management for the assigned commodity (PPV goal, pricing trends, competitive landscape, quality performance, delivery performance, price data integrity, contract/agreement negotiation, lead time optimization & supplier risk analysis, etc.). Provide market intelligent for benchmarking.
To manage and minimize supply base risk. Build strategic relationship with supply base to support company growth.
Job Responsibilities
- Development of strategic suppliers to support Division/ category management product and technology roadmap
- Define approved supplier lists (AVL) on assigned commodities and sector. Manage right sizing of the supplier base and component diversity
- Identification of supplier, component qualification and cost negotiation (not specific RFQ related)
- Ensure implementation of the commodity strategy set in:
- supplier selection,
- Component design-in,
- Single/second sourcing,
- product life cycle pricing
- Early Supplier Involvement.
- PPV (Cost saving)
- QBR
- Supplier / Purchasing (framework) contract including but not limited to Non-disclosure agreement, purchasing agreement, quality agreement, VMI, tooling agreement etc. and general commercial negotiation. Supplier capacity planning/tooling.
- Improve supplier performance
- Conduct Quarterly Business Review Meeting
- Mitigate supply risk via risk assessments and mitigation plans
- Resolve any quality issues with supplier and provide guidance on process enhancements and improvements.
- Conduct supplier audits to ensure process and procedures are in place
- Escalation path for site quality and delivery issue
- Maintain deep understanding of supplier product roadmaps and technology trends
- Gather and manage competitor/supplier/market intelligence
- Provide component cost analysis; Support agreed BOM cost targets
- Support both local and global NPD/RFQ teams and Purchasing team
- Address SCM issues and escalations to Global. Identify and minimize risks in the SCM project and inform management of the risks being taken
- Conduct safety management of business partners in accordance with AEO's enterprise standards for customs certification
- Other admin tasked assigned by Head of Department
Key Qualifications and desirable experience
University degree or equivalent qualification
5+ years in a procurement executive role, experienced in PVC/EV manufacturing process
Familiar with plastic, machinery, metal components, with Knowledge of product development processes
knowledge and experience in PCBA is a plus
Demonstrated ability to work with international team
Sourcing, negotiation and supply chain management skills
Ability to build supplier relationship
Experience with international terms of trade and payment
Strong project management and problem solving skill
Good communication and negotiations skills
Ability to work independently
Bilingual in English and Chinese is preferred (as will be working together with colleagues in China)
