About The Team
Next Gen Technology Fraud Team
The Next Gen Technology Fraud team comprises 31 individuals located in Melbourne, Sydney, and Kuala Lumpur. It is composed of three Scrum teams, UI/UX team, DevOps, Product Management, Architect, and Research Team. As a software QA engineer, you will have the exciting opportunity to work with a group of talents and leverage cutting-edge technology to test software that enables secure online transactions for everyone. The role
We are seeking a software quality engineer who will be working closely with and under the guidance of the Senior QA Engineer to deliver a new fraud detection platform for GBG. This role is to ensure the delivery of high-quality software by designing and executing effective testing strategies. In addition, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, automate efficiency tests, and ensure that the functionality of the system developed in-house is fully tested to meet the high standards of quality expected by the business.

What You Will Do
The candidate is accountable for
- Actively participate in team-based agile ceremonies and work closely with software engineers, product owners, architects, and designers
- Create and review test acceptance criteria for all tasks during sprint planning/ grooming
- Undertake manual testing activities, document your test results, and create clear and understandable defect reports (using Jira and Xray)
- Create and execute automated test scripts and contribute to the maintenance of automated test suites
- Assist with the creation, management, and execution of test plans for larger feature development activities where needed
- Identify and manage defects within the project with a view to preventing customer-facing issues
- Actively contribute to quality assurance improvements and initiatives
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Experience in automated testing for web-based and API-based software solutions
- Solid experience in analysing acceptance criteria and creating a thorough and targeted suite of relevant test cases
- Understanding of TDD or BDD framework (Gherkin language)
- Experience with functional test, and integration test
- Experience working in an Agile environment and participating in related ceremonies
- Knowledge of these automated testing tools and technologies would be advantageous: Java, Cucumber, Selenium, Jenkins, SOAP UI, Postman
- Hands-on experience with Non-functional testing such as Performance, Security etc., would be an advantage.
- Effective communication skills to convey testing strategies, results, and issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders/ scrum team members
- Gets to the heart of complex issues and problems through clear analytical thinking and effective application of expertise
- To have a meticulous approach to testing and pay close attention to the details to identify potential defects or issues
- A demonstrated ability to work as a team within a fast-paced team
- Flexible, resilient, and able to change focus on demand
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly within a continually changing, challenging environment
- Ability to prioritise and to work independently, takes ownership of own workload
