About the Team:
The Fulfilment Tech Family at Grab, operating in Southeast Asia, uses machine learning in high-capacity systems to enhance driver engagement and efficiency. The Allocation team, a part of this family, manages multiple products to ensure efficient order-driver matching and reliable booking experiences. The team is based in Malaysia and Singapore.
Get To Know The Role
We are looking for experienced Engineers to join our team. You will have opportunities to work on multiple backend service clusters and participate in building machine learning pipelines. You will report to the Senior Software Engineering Manager, Fulfilment.
This role is based in Petaling Jaya and hybrid.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- You will design and write with the latest GO language to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Grab's range of services
- You will work with infrastructure team in building and scaling back-end services and performing root cause analysis investigations
- You will work with mobile team to build reusable modularized mobile components utilising scalable APIs
- You will work with different engineering teams to explore and create new design/architectures geared towards scale and performance
- You will participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- We're looking at least 1 year working experience on backend development
- You will have familiarity with running large-scale distributed web or api services; understanding of systems internals and networking and hands-on database and at least one data query languages like mysql or Presto
- You will have experience on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure and understanding of testing frameworks for unit testing, integration testing and E2E testing
- You have hands-on familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for system development and deployment
- You understand building microservices architecture and a good grasp of distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and message queuing systems. Your knowledge in these areas will develop our back-end services.
- You can be a good coder in any language, but willing to work on Golang
