Snr BA, Data Warehouse

The person appointed will be a key member of the Data Warehouse team with the following roles:

• Lead, manage, and execute key initiatives of centralized data repository for the Group
• Lead, manage, and execute key standards in test methodologies on Data Warehouse and Enterprise Data Lake enhancements, up streams and down streams interfaces for RHB Banking Group
• Manage and support DWH/EDL timeliness Service Level Agreement (SLA), completeness and data quality to downstream applications and users
• Perform Business Analysis in Metadata Management responsible for managing data about other data (metadata) to ensure it is correctly classified, organized and accessible.
• Assist to drive metadata management initiatives and other business analysis requirements.
• To define the metadata management principles and best practices for business and technical metadata
• Assist in business analysis, metadata modelling, and maintaining the metadata repository
• Works together with Data Governance and the relevant stakeholders to be guided on data policy framework and standardization for compliance assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assists in driving initiatives for the Data Management area particularly Business Analysis, Metadata Management, Data Warehouse and Enterprise Data Lake
2. Lead, plan and conduct test conditions, test scripts and process flow to assure comprehensive testing is conducted in DWH/EDL.
3. Work together with the respective business specialist to co-ordinate data related projects for data enrichment, system enhancements and new downloads to DWH/EDL & EBI.
4. Provide support to SFGs/SBGs on testing approaches to be adhered to for all enhancements in DWH/EDL.
5. Co-ordinate with System Owners and end-users on all users acceptance testing (UAT) related to DWH/EDL
6. Gather Business requirements with timely and consistent information deployment via data lake or data warehouse as requested by requestors.
7. Translate Business Requirement into Technical Requirement and Data Modeling for implementation.
8. Track and monitor the accuracy of system reconciliation between DWH/EDL downloads against source and GL by providing month end reports to the system owners
9. Carry out comprehensive testing on new downloads to DWH/EDL and new programs enhancements related to new business logics.
10. Assist Squad Lead on advisory and business support to Group Internal customers pertaining to data standards, business rules/logic and data availability in DWH/EDL.
11. Provide regular management update on BAU tasks and project delivery status to management and stakeholder
12. Update DWH/EDL metadata repository for new data enrichment.
13. Mapping data flows and structures across data platforms through logical and conceptual data models, mappings, lineage, and data flows.
14. Defining data principles and standards to ensure traceability, security, and quality and alignment with business needs.
15. Developing and implementing metadata standards and best practices for data management.
16. Classifying, cataloging and indexing data for easy retrieval and optimal usefulness.
17. Analyzing metadata to study data usage and identify areas for improvement or increased efficiency.
18. Creating, editing and updating metadata records and databases
19. Responsible for the accessibility, retrievability, security, quality, retention, and ethical handling of datasets. This role is expected to design, implement, and operationalize metadata roadmap to achieve those objectives.
20. Lead and interact with business or system users from other teams to obtain data requirements and definitions for new and existing applications to be created in metadata management repository.
21. Audit data within metadata repository on a regular basis and ensure accuracy and compliance.
22. Develop process improvements for metadata management activities.
23. Address any issues, questions and problems with accuracy and timely manner.
24. Be a key member and advisor in all new strategic data initiatives and ensure alignment to the metadata management area.
25. Lead, engage, and provide guidance to a team of BA and Associate BA
26. Work closely with Data Governance on data policy and framework
27. Work closely with Business and Data Stewards on acquisition of business metadata definition.
28. Plan, review, and manage budget & forecast with budget coordinator.

Requirements:
Bachelor Degree - 1. Degree/Master in Decision Science, Statistics, Economics, IT, Computer Science or related discipline.

Preferred Level of Experience

1. Minimum 10 years of proven experience as Business Analyst, Data Warehouse/Enterprise Data Lake Analyst, Data Mining, Business Intelligence, Metadata Management Specialist and leading project implementations
2. Excellent understanding of key functions such as data administration, data modelling and management functions (data collection, analysis, modelling, mapping, distribution etc.)
3. Strong business sense and understanding of the business flow will help in the metadata administration of the repository.
4. Good knowledge & hands-on experience in Data Warehouse & analytic technology (SAS Statistical Tool, MS SQL, Oracle, R-Programming, Python)
5. Familiarity with data modelling and modern database and information system technologies (ERWIN, Oracle, IBM DB2, MS SQL, Hadoop and Object Store)
6. An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
8. Experience of managing data solution across hybrid (cloud, on premise) data platforms.
9. A good understanding of data warehousing and data transformation (extract, transform and load) processes and the supporting technologies such as Amazon Cloud, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, other analytics products.
10. Strong knowledge of horizontal data lineage from source to output

8. DMMF certification will be an added advantage
