Requirement- Candidate must possess at lease a Diploma (Advance/Higher), Bachelor's Degree,Post Graduate (Diploma/Degree), Professional Degree Engineering (Environmental Safety & Health) or equivalent.
Have attended safety course (certified by NIOSH or other recognition body) / (Yellow Book)- At lease 3 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Other skills/ Competencies - Competent Scaffholder / Lifting supervisor (if any is highly preferred)
Safety Planning: Develop and implement safety plans, policies, and procedures for the construction site. This involves conducting risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and establishing control measures to mitigate risks.
- Safety Inspections: Regularly inspect the construction site to identify any safety hazards, unsafe practices, or potential violations of safety regulations. This includes inspecting equipment, machinery, tools, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Training and Orientation:
Provide safety training and orientation to all workers and contractors on the site. This includes familiarizing them with safety procedures, emergency protocols, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Incident Investigation:
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses on the construction site. Identify the root causes, analyze the findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, as well as company safety policies. Stay updated on any changes in safety standards and communicate them to the relevant personnel.
- Safety Communication: Promote a safety culture by communicating and promoting safety initiatives, best practices, and guidelines to all stakeholders on the construction site. Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to raise awareness and address any safety concerns.
Emergency Preparedness:
Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to prepare workers for potential emergencies such as fires, natural disasters, or medical incidents. Coordinate with emergency services and maintain first aid and emergency equipment.Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and safety-related documents. Prepare safety reports and submit them to the relevant authorities as required.Contractor Coordination: Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and other site personnel to ensure that they adhere to safety regulations and maintain safe work practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve the safety performance of the construction site by analyzing data, identifying trends, and implementing preventive measures to reduce accidents and injuries
