- Compliance with Regulations:
Ensuring that the workplace complies with all relevant safety and health regulations and standards set by local and national authorities.
- Safety Inspections:
Performing routine safety inspections to assess the condition of equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure they are safe for use.
- Emergency Response Planning:
Maintaining emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and training employees on how to respond in case of emergencies such as fires, chemical spills, or medical incidents.
- Safety Training:
Providing safety training to employees on topics such as first aid, fire safety, proper handling of hazardous materials, and the safe operation of machinery and equipment.
- Accident Investigation:
Investigating workplace accidents, near misses, and incidents to determine their causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent their recurrence.
- Safety Documentation:
Maintaining records of safety-related activities, including safety inspection reports, accident records, training documentation, and safety manuals.
- Safety Communication:
Promoting a culture of safety in the workplace by communicating safety policies and procedures to all employees and encouraging them to report safety concerns.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Ensuring that appropriate personal protective equipment is provided to employees, and that they are trained on how to use it effectively.
- Safety Committees:
Collaborating with safety committees or worker representatives to address safety concerns and promote safety initiatives within the organization.
- Incident Reporting:
Establishing a system for employees to report safety concerns and incidents promptly and confidentially.
- Environmental Health:
In some cases, Safety Coordinators may also be responsible for addressing environmental health concerns related to the workplace.
- Safety Programs:
Implementing safety programs and initiatives to continuously improve workplace safety.
- Assist management and Safety and health officer perform ad hoc task by management.
