Mission of the role
The mission of the Sharepoint Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the group SharePoint Online environment. This role includes ensuring the functional and technical configuration, performance, availability, and security of SharePoint Online services and their integration into business applications, as well as supporting users and collaborating with various departments to implement and manage SharePoint solutions.
You contribute to structurally improving the workplace technologies, processes and data in this field of expertise.
Organisational Positioning
Reports to the Group Director IT Services and Applications and is part of the Corporate IT Services and Applications Team. He/she will also participate in global Workplace Improvement Initiatives.
Main accountabilities
The Sharepoint Specialist ensures the following accountabilities:
Construct and maintain global and regional SharePoint Site Architectures.
Configure SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, managed metadata, and web parts.
Maintain and improve document management structures and the integration with business applications such as D365, ProductInformationManagement, ...
Develop and maintain global and regional access groups and permissions.
Establish governance, policies, and procedures for SharePoint sites, Teams, and OneDrive.
Proficient in troubleshooting and supporting existing sites and deployed solutions.
Optimize and support Information Rights Management (IRM) for internal and external users/content.
Design and develop custom SharePoint solutions aligned with business requirements.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, provide progress updates, and foster relationships.
Coordinate with other developers and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.
Manage the vendor relationship with the main Sharepoint implementation partners.
Develop and implement SharePoint security and access controls.
Identify, analyze, develop, and digitize business processes to enable automation where feasible.
Develop solutions utilizing the Power Platform.
Pro-actively monitor the service health of SharePoint sites, Teams, and OneDrive.
Documenting & maintaining the operational Sharepoint architecture & designs related to the Azelis standard workplace inline with enterprise architecture best practices & standards
Pro-actively monitor and remediate security recommendations in this field
Ensure overall service quality and service levels are achieved for workplace related requests in this field
Organise the daily workplace operations of first line IT support engineers, including development and maintenance of procedures and work instructions for the execution of the support activities
Continuously improve the IT service delivery in close collaboration with the service delivery organisation, including external service providersActively support our business by providing second line IT support:
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents transferred from first line servicedesk
Resolve service requests such as configuration of access rights to IT colleagues,
Deliver advanced functional support on workplace systems
Troubleshoot complex issues prior to handover to 3rd line support (external service provider)
Support the contract owners of workplace related supplier contracts
Proactively develop and promote communication, end-user documentation or self-service options towards end-users

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a proactive and well-organised personality that is ready to work in an international rapidly changing and challenging environment, who is passionate about optimizing the IT workplace in all its many forms, with the following experience, educational background and interpersonal skills:
Proven experience as a SharePoint Administrator, particularly with SharePoint Online.
Strong knowledge of SharePoint architecture, administration, and best practices.
Strong Knowledge of SharePoint Framework (SPFx), PowerApps, and Power Automate.
Experience with Office 365 and related services (e.g., OneDrive, Teams).
Experience with Sharepoint migrations and migration tools
Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
Understanding of networking, security, and compliance in a cloud environment.
