Responsibilities & Duties
Must have Technical patching experience coming from an engineering background:
Security experience, ensuring IT Infrastructure estate is continuously patched with up to date patch level. Improve existing procedures for managing patches across all IT infrastructure, including patch evaluation, severity ranking, risk analysis, prioritization, deployment, follow-up, and issue remediation.
Perform Patch management tasks include: maintaining current knowledge of available patches, deciding what patches are appropriate for particular systems, ensuring that patches are installed properly, testing systems after installation, and documenting all associated procedures.
Complex patching environment on an historic estate experience. Verification of security vulnerabilities and patches as well as performing deep dive and impact analysis into failed patch deployments
Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal technology team or business stakeholder in written and oral format.
Ensure all managed infra assets within each technology tower are patched against security vulnerabilities and software bugs in line with the Patching Management Lifecycle Policy
Provision of patching reports and statistics detailing all managed assets patched including details of the patches installed
Ownership of the patching schedule for managed assets including the agreement of dates/times for installation of patches with the stakeholder.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical performance issues. Manage user accounts, group membership and GPOs for the AD domain.
Experience in the following areas: Patch Management, Anti-Virus, Symantec Endpoint/MacAfee, OS Upgrades
Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors and monitoring system performance.
Qualifications & Skills
Patch Management & Patch Automation experience.
Associate or Bachelor degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience or 9 years of directly applicable experience.
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment.
Working in Windows and Non Windows Server Environment.
Strong technical knowledge of network and operating systems including: Windows Server, Linux, Windows 7, 8, and 10, Remote Desktop.
Knowledge on Network Switches and Storage equipment's operations and how patch is managed across all these devices
