Job Summary
This role is responsible for developing and executing the trade marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and brand objectives. This role focuses on optimizing retail performance, driving visibility and sell-out across key channels, and managing a team of trade marketing professionals to achieve sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement trade marketing plans aligned with the brand and sales strategy to maximize market share and sales growth.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to design effective trade campaigns, promotions and in-store activities that drive product visibility and sell-through.
- Ensure the execution of trade activities (displays, promotions, etc.) at retail channels such as hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies, general trade.
Retail & Channel Management
- Lead category management initiatives to enhance product visibility and sales within key channels.
- Analyze channel-specific performance and propose tailored strategies for modern trade, general trade and e-commerce.
- Manage relationships with key retail partners to ensure optimal product placement, shelf space and compliance with trade agreements.
Budget Management
- Oversee the trade marketing budget ensuring efficient allocation of resources across trade activities.
- Track and report on promotional spending, ensuring return on investment (ROI) on all trade marketing initiatives.
Market & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct market analysis and research to understand consumer behavior, competitor activities and category trends.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to enhance market competitiveness and brand positioning.
Sales Collaboration
- Work closely with the sales team with the necessary tools and materials to drive sell-in and sell-out performance.

Promotions & Activations
- Plan and execute in-store promotions, product sampling, merchandising and other activations.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of trade marketing activities and promotions.
Performance Reporting
- Track, analyze and report in key trade marketing KPIs, such as sales performance, market share and promotion effectiveness.
- Present insights and recommendations to Senior Management.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop a team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Set clear performance goals for the team, monitor progress and provide ongoing feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture, ensuring the team delivers impactful trade marketing executions.
Job Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Trade Marketing within the FMCG sector.
- Experience in MT and GT Channel
- Strong understanding of FMCG retail environments and channel dynamics.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market insights.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to manage budgets and execute trade marketing strategies within financial constraints.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
