Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible to offer technical advice and provides comment to support in early engagement, conceptual studies, FEED, and on inquiry specifications for customers/Account Managers with regards to ABB's integrated solutions preferably within the oil and gas, chemicals LNG segment. You will work in collaboration with other TSSS within their domain (i.e. Electrical, Telco, Digital, etc). Providing Technical Support during the technical meeting, product presentation and negotiations. You will be responsible to formulate competitive proposals, taking into consideration on best available solution / product mix, for each individual opportunity assigned to you. Ensuring bids and proposals are well documented in a timely manner and with appropriate level of details, including full and accurate cost. You will also collaborate with extended stakeholders (i.e. Project, engineering, product and leadership) and ensuring all risk review processes, assessments & approvals are adhered/documented in the preparation of the proposals.
This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries Business Hub Asia Region. The position is based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Supporting Account / Sales Managers in technical discussions, presentations, early engagement activities with end customers, FEED Consultants, EPCs, etc.
- Formulating competitive bids & proposals, considering best available solution / product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation.
- Managing the preparation of all technical (e.g., defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)), Operational estimations (e.g., quantifies hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
- In accordance with bid/estimate/quotation planning, ensuring that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures.
- Collecting and archiving documentation regarding the offer/order and recording assumptions and decisions taken during the development process.
- Regularly reporting the status of the bids/estimates/quotations using defined tools.
- Identifying potential technical risks in the bids, proposals, and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers/channels.
Qualifications For The Role
- Engineering degree and 12-15 years of expertise in Automation Controls.
- More than 8 years of experience in complex Bids & Proposal.
- Extensive experience with Asia Pacific customer in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals & Refineries, Power and/or LNG Regasification segments.
- Proposed / Managed retrofit projects.
- International, cross-BU and cross-division experience.
- Fluent in English, proficient in Mandarin / Thai / Bahasa is a plus.
- Team player, self-sufficient and highly motivated.
