SUMMARY- This position will represent the company in the acquisition of goods and services required to assure on-time deliveries and meet customer satisfaction. The primary roles are to ensure the Direct Material availability based on Demand Forecast/ Master Production Schedule. Support in Indirect & NPI purchase activity. Plan and execute the purchase according to the sources & allocation. Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain Planner to identify the supply gap and escalate on the supply disruption. Manage the inventory levels, seeking to optimize inventory turns and other performance.
- Execute the MRP plan, ensure the ordering in timely manner, track on order confirmation, monitor the delivery.
Ensure the material availability according to the planned requirements.
- Meet inventory target by managing open purchase orders through cancellation and rescheduling.
Identify the supply risk, work closely with Supply Chain Planner for recovery plan and scheduling changes.- Coordinate with procurement to resolve the AOS.
Analyze and escalate the supply risk to management for preventive planning.
- Contribute to materials phase-in/out plan and make tactical buying decisions to minimize obsolescence, a key member of the ECO.
Support in NPI purchase activities.- Support in Indirect purchase activities.
To carry out a comprehensive review of the Material Planning & Purchasing function and its methodology and identify and implement improvements.
- Participate in supplier performance survey and assessment, monitor and address suppliers delivery and quality performance.
Mentoring new starters, providing on the job training to existing team members, and ensuring that the team are satisfactorily supported in their day-to-day work activities.- Ad-hoc duties when assigned.
- Possess at least Diploma/Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business Management.
Min 8 years of working experience in Material Planning/ Purchasing / sourcing experience or equivalent.- Good knowledge in ERP system e.g. SAP, IFS, etc.
Good knowledge in inventory management
- Experience in material planning & purchase for mass production/ project buy.
Experience in supporting prototype materials purchase in NPI phase.- Experience and knowledge in ISO9001 quality system.
Demonstrate leadership in ISO audits for purchasing function.
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; having the ability to multitask.
Ability to drive material planning & purchasing activities for complex programs.- Ability to mentor & train the team - Leadership.
Ability to take a proactive approach to overcome challenges and achieve results, risk assessment.
