As a Solution Engineer (Cloud Operations), you will be part of a team that is responsible for the provisioning of environments on the GW platform for all Field organizations. You will develop deep expertise in the Guidewire cloud and provide triage and troubleshooting support using our knowledge base and continuous learning to restore the affected systems.
The Field Cloud operations Team is dedicated full-time to crafting and running software that improves the reliability of systems within the Field Organization, serving our many colleagues within the Field organization. We are passionate about automation where possible to make Guidewire Field systems run more efficiently.
You will be operating within Guidewires flagship cloud platform and Insurance Suite products and building tooling to help ensure efficient operations and optimal availability of all SaaS multi-tenant systems.
Field Cloud Ops members collaborate closely with Guidewires Cloud Engineering team to ensure that the Guidewire core cloud products address functional and non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, observability, and maintainability.
This role requires a high degree of independence, ownership, responsibility, ability to troubleshoot and resolve defects.

The ideal candidate is someone who exemplifies the ethics of, If you have to do something more than once, automate it, and who can rapidly self-educate on new concepts and tools.
Bonus points if you have prior experience doing production support of a SaaS platform and are comfortable working with state-of-the-art highly containerized cloud-native environments in AWS.
Responsibilities:
2 to 5 years of experience in AWS Cloud Platform and its features which includes EC2, VPC, RDS, EKS, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, Auto Scaling, IAM, S3, R53, CloudFront, AWS Lambda, Redshift, Chatbot, IoT, Elastic Search, Google Analytics
2 to 5 years of experience working with Observability and Monitoring tools
Background utilizing and supporting log analytical tools such as DataDog
Working with Kubernetes hands-on in a Been there, Done that way
Strong understanding of Single-Sign On, SAML, oAuth (Bonus points if hands-on experience with Okta)
Good understanding of DevOps tools, CI/CD and hands-on experience with Git, Bitbucket and TeamCity
Experience using a software defect tracking system such as JIRA
General Familiarity with broad technical skills such as Object-Oriented Programming (Java, C#, or similar), relational databases, XML, and cloud architecture.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field.What you would need to succeed:
Experience building microservices on cloud service platforms (e.g. AWS/GCP/Azure)
Masters degree in Computer Science
