Role Purpose:
We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join the Setel Engineering team. We are obsessed with delivering a seamless and frictionless retail experience for our customers. In This Role You Will:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases manually, ensuring thorough coverage of functional and non-functional requirements, including both negative and positive scenarios.
- Demonstrate proficiency in writing clear, concise, and effective test cases that are easy to understand and execute, while maximizing coverage of the software's features and functionalities.
- Identify, document, and track software defects accurately and thoroughly using industry-standard bug tracking systems, prioritizing issues based on severity, priority and impact.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to ensure the software meets quality standards and user expectations.
- Conduct (E2E) end-to-end testing to verify the software's functionality, interoperability, and system integration across various platforms and environments.
- Foster a professional work environment by promoting clear and effective communication, respect, and collaboration among team members, contributing to a positive and supportive company culture.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies, suggesting enhancements and implementing best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Demonstrate proficiency in time management and task organization, effectively prioritizing responsibilities to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
- Assist with any related tasks, projects, and other assigned duties as and when deemed necessary.
- Ensure adherence to the compliance of company policies, industry regulations and legal requirements.
You're A Great Fit If You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-6 years of experience in manual software testing or quality assurance.
- Proficient in manual testing methodologies, techniques, and best practices, with a deep understanding of testing principles and concepts.
- Familiarity with test case management tools and bug tracking systems, such as Jira, or similar platforms.
- Some knowledge of automation testing concepts and tools would be an added advantage, enabling the integration of automated testing into the overall testing strategy.
- Handles moderately complex test cases and tasks with a high degree of independence, demonstrating analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Requires a solid understanding of software systems and architectures, allowing for effective root cause analysis of issues encountered during testing.
- Capable of designing and executing test scenarios that cover a wide range of potential use cases and edge cases, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development through knowledge sharing and coaching.
- Takes initiative in identifying process improvements and implementing solutions to enhance team productivity and efficiency.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across different departments to drive quality initiatives and achieve common goals.
- Leads by example, exhibiting a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
