Job Summary:
- As an Innovation & IP Scientist, you will undergo six months of technical training to gain a deep understanding of glove production chemistry and science. You will work within the
- R&D/Technical function, completing studies and trials under the guidance of senior technical colleagues.
- These projects may involve contributing to new product development, overseeing the scaling of new products or technologies for commercial production, and conducting test
- method development using analytical characterization techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Explore and assess new innovative approaches for the company, focusing on emerging technologies, material chemistries, and engineering materials.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams at production sites and external parties to identify and evaluate potential opportunities.
- Evaluate the intellectual property landscape, determining the patentability of the company's inventions.
- Conduct thorough prior art searches and provide IP alerts on relevant patent disclosures and publications in the industry.
- Assist in scouting and developing partner relationships within the innovation space, including universities, start-ups, and research organizations. Translate cutting-edge technologies into tangible benefits for our manufacturing and product platforms.
- Support the management and execution of innovation and R&D projects, driving the development of new solutions, chemistries, and technical approaches.
- Provide hands-on technical support and guidance as needed. Actively mentor junior R&D colleagues to foster their growth and development.
- Collaborate with the R&D team in method development and the utilization of analytical characterization techniques.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of R&D processes and methodologies.
Requirements:
- Completed or ongoing PhD in Chemistry or Materials Sciences.
- Demonstrated ability to develop innovative products and solutions. Intellectual Property
- (IP) experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to actively listen, think critically, and persuade effectively
