POSITION SUMMARY
Based in Malaysia, the Regional IT Manager will support Global Technology objectives while building and supporting relationships with regional business units. He/she will oversee infrastructure and application changes and ensure that vendors and other contributors complete tasks as agreed.
This position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with eligibility for a hybrid work schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as single point of contact for IT escalations and requests for Asian markets
- Oversee and follow-up incidents and other technical issues, collaborating with L2/L3 support in Ireland and/or USA.
- Track and manage issues related to computing, software, applications and infrastructure
- Function as first-level Business Analyst for new requests originating in Asian locations, collaborating with teams in Ireland and USA as needed
- Escalate critical issues promptly
- Contribute to IT continuous improvements and roadmap
- Contribute to and track technology budget in the Asian region
- Assist in creating and supporting IT operational workflows, knowledge documents, reports, and communications to IT and business customers, in alignment with Global IT.
- Participate in the evaluation, design, and implementation of new systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluent English language, both verbal and written
- Have demonstrable experience and aptitude in working in a global, matrix organization where effective negotiating skills are used successfully while maintaining good working relationships with members of that organization.
- Sufficient technical background to understand basic infrastructure principles and business process flows in applications, and to understand the impact of new technologies.
- Experience using ITIL service management processes.
- Familiarity with project management principles
- The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, users, and colleagues within a global multicultural team.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in both verbal and written communications.
- Attention to detail and an ability to demonstrate an understanding of the need for standards and processes in IT.
