Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) functions to ensure a positive and productive workplace
  • Develop and implement ER and IR policies, procedures, and programs that comply with labor laws and best practices
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on all ER and IR matters, providing guidance and support
  • Proactively manage employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution processes while ensuring fair treatment and adherence to company policies
  • Facilitate negotiations with employee representatives and unions, when applicable, to maintain good industrial relations and resolve disputes
  • Conduct regular training sessions for management and employees on ER and IR topics, including conflict resolution and labor laws
  • Monitor industry trends and labor market developments to identify potential impacts on the organization and develop proactive strategies
  • Lead and support organizational change initiatives with a focus on maintaining employee engagement and morale during transitions
  • Prepare and deliver reports on ER and IR metrics, trends, and issues to senior management.

Requirements


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree/ Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field; relevant certifications are advantageous
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in Employee Relations and Industrial Relations, with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, employee rights, and industrial relations practices
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex ER and IR issues, disputes, and negotiations
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in other languages is a plus
  • Commitment to fostering a positive work environment and promoting employee engagement
