Key Accountabilities
1) Consolidated Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Steer and Drive the preparation of the consolidated audited financial statements and financial report for PETRONAS Lubricants International, through effective planning and management of groupwide audit activities in order to ensure compliance to relevant statutory bodies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements across 20+ jurisdictions including leading the financial performance tracking (monthly, quarterly and annual) vs SPLY.
- Define and implement financial policies, frameworks and control mechanisms for PLISB and PLI Group ensuring local, international, PLI and PETRONAS Group compliance.
- Provides oversight of all internal & external audits.
2) Accounting Advisory
- Formulate and provide financial consultative advice including the finance-relatedproblem-solving sessions with senior leaders, synthesizing recommendations and tracking progress against agreed goals including supporting the PLI business unit, Regional and function in relation to accounting treatment of business transaction and adoption of new accounting standards, companies act and other statutory requirements by effectively strategize groupwide implementation approach, managing and effectively monitor resolution of groupwide issues, provide platform for finance fraternity upskilling with the latest development in accounting standard, developing implementation guidelines in accordance with the applicable accounting standards, PETRONAS Lubricants International Group reporting requirements and regulatory requirements.
- Influence decision-making across departmental lines and structures, tailoring communications and approach in line with culturaland functional norms. Cultivate strong relationships based on accountability, collaboration and impact.
3) Risk & Governance
- Strategise and Steer risk management across PLI and build a culture of strong corporate governance and financial compliance across PLI's diverse and far-reaching global footprint and steer the implementation of risk management process and Governance for the PLISB Group.
- Define and implement financial policies, frameworks and control mechanisms for PLISB and PLI Group ensuring local, international, PLI and PETRONAS Group compliance.
- Provide oversight of all internal & external audits.
4) Taxation
- Steer the tax fiscal strategy, tax planning and tax litigations resolutions for PETRONAS Lubricants International that affect the business in accordance to the compliance with tax requirements together with PETRONAS Group, aimed at maximizing PLI Group's value, taking into account the growing complexity of tax regime for each region (EMEA, AME, APAC and China) and greater scrutiny by the tax authorities.
- Spearhead framework on dissemination of knowledge on regulatory tax development and tax compliance in order to support overall PLI business growth.
- Steer and shape relevant support activities and assistance to the other group functions and subsidiaries to address specific fiscal/tax issues in various international tax jurisdictions while ensuring an enterprise mindset.
5) Finance System and Process Excellence
- Steer and shape a robust financial system control framework setup and support other strategic and operational financial related system and process improvements including SAP S4 Hana rollout/enhancement to achieve reporting simplification and standardization and consolidation efficiencies as well as finance operations automation across all legal entities in supporting PLI business and operations for cost optimization by streamlining processes, improving process and data quality and providing solutions and recommendations to leadership on where gaps exist.
6) Other initiatives and special projects to drive improvements and efficiencies
- Strategise and drive multiplefinancial excellence projects (eg special projects, zero based redesign or support of business function improvements), and navigate through the complex landscape of PLI business including establishing shared service operations for finance activities, embodying tenacity and attention to details to overcome organizational drag and other blockers to drive results and achieve optimal state on resources, cost and business processes.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 15 years of post-professional qualification experience in accounting and/or accounting related tasks with minimum 5 years working in senior position in a multinational organization.
- Strong Knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Companies Act, Income Tax
- Having External Audit exposure of minimum 3 years is pertinent
- Strong management skills: planning, organizing, communicating, implementing and problem-solving.
- Strong leadership skills with wide external networks from the finance industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills - written and communication skills, influencing, presentation and able to work in a diverse and global team.
