Job Purpose
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing Affin Group's capital management framework, ensuring optimal capital and RWA levels, supporting stress-test exercises, and leading capital-related projects.
Responsibilities
Capital Planning and Analysis
- Lead the development of comprehensive capital planning process, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy of Affin Group.
- Create and maintain detailed capital forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to integrate capital plans into broader financial plans and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Capital Allocation and Optimisation
- Develop and implement methodology to have efficient capital allocation across different business units / projects and support strategic priorities of Affin Group.
- Analyse and recommend strategies for capital structure optimisation and efficient capital usage.
Stress Testing
- Contribute to the design and execution of half-yearly stress tests to assess Affin Group's resilience under various economic conditions.
- This includes collaboration with risk management and other relevant teams to ensure a thorough assessment, comprehensive analysis on the results, highlighting key findings and provide insights for strategic capital planning.
Others
- Stay updated with regulatory changes and industry best practices related to capital management and conduct gap analysis as necessary.
- Lead and participate in special projects and initiatives related to capital management.
- Point person on capital matters for new product development, review controls, and audit findings.
- Other ad hoc tasks as assigned by senior management or as necessitated by evolving business needs.
Skills And Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field; SAS knowledge/experience is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience in capital management, financial/management accounting, risk management, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements of banking industry, especially on guidelines related to capital adequacy.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proven leadership abilities and experience in managing a team.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and able to work independently in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
