Summary:
The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for the legal aspects of commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, administrative matters and other legal transactions. This role serves as an advisor to the management of Bumi Armada on corporate governance, strategic, commercial and regulatory direction from a legal perspective and works to ensure that the company's interest is protected, with a particular focus on supporting the company's supply chain and project teams.
Responsibilities:
Legal Matters
- Draft, negotiate and review contracts in multiple jurisdictions, with a particular focus on supporting the company's supply chain and project teams.
- Monitor new laws, rules and regulations affecting the company.
- Advise on legal risks and mitigations.
- Manage external advisers and legal disputes.
Requirements:
- Degree in law; Admitted Malaysian bar or admitted / called to the Bar in other relevant jurisdiction.
- 10+ years post qualification experience (private practice and/or in-house).
- Familiar with the principles of English law.
- Experience in providing legal advice and support to procurement/supply chain and project functions.
- Experience in corporate & commercial work.
- Current knowledge of oil/gas/maritime industry trends and regulatory changes desirable.
