We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Lecturer in Project Management to join our Faculty of Architecture and Built Environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, research, and leadership in project management, particularly as it relates to the architecture and construction industries.
Teaching & Curriculum Development:- Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in project management, with a focus on architecture, construction, and the built environment.
Develop innovative teaching materials and methods, including online and blended learning resources.- Supervise student projects, dissertations, and theses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Research & Scholarly Activity:- Conduct and publish high-quality research in the field of project management, particularly in areas related to architecture and the built environment.
Secure external funding for research projects and contribute to the development of research strategies within the faculty.- Participate in national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars to disseminate research findings.
Academic Leadership & Mentoring:- Provide academic leadership within the faculty, contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans and policies.
Mentor junior staff and support their professional development and progression.- Lead and participate in program development and review processes, ensuring the curriculum remains relevant and responsive to industry needs.
Industry Engagement & Collaboration:- Establish and maintain strong links with industry partners, professional bodies, and other academic institutions.
Engage in consultancy activities and collaborative research projects with industry to enhance the facultys reputation and impact.- Develop opportunities for students to gain practical experience through internships, placements, and industry-led projects.
Student Support & Administration:- Provide academic and pastoral support to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Participate in student recruitment, admissions, and retention activities.- Contribute to the administrative duties of the faculty, including committee work, quality assurance, and program management.
A Ph.D. in Project Management, Architecture, Construction Management, or a closely related field.- A strong record of published research in project management, particularly in the context of architecture and the built environment.
Extensive teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a track record of curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience in supervising Ph.D. students and leading research projects.
Strong industry connections and experience in engaging with professional bodies and external partners.- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community.
Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Experience in securing research funding and managing research grants.
