about the role
you will be tasked with designing, developing, and maintaining the company's data infrastructure, which includes data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance initiatives. Collaborating closely with data analysts, scientists, and other key stakeholders, you will ensure that data pipelines are scalable, efficient, and reliable, while upholding high data quality standards. Additionally, you will lead efforts to modernize our data warehouse operations, keeping them in line with industry best practices and the latest technological advancements.
about the job
- design, implement, and manage data warehouse solutions that support analytics and reporting needs
- create and maintain ETL processes to efficiently extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse
- enhance data pipelines to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability in data processing
- enforce data governance and security protocols to maintain data integrity and confidentiality
- produce and update documentation such as data flow diagrams, technical specs, and user manuals
- work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to convert business needs into technical solutions
knowledge, skills and experience
- bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred
- at least 5 years of experience as a data engineer, with hands-on expertise in designing and building data pipelines using Databricks for big data processing and analytics
- strong proficiency in programming languages like Python, or Scala, along with experience writing complex SQL queries
- solid experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts, including medallion architecture
- experience in developing reports with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS
- excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of troubleshooting and debugging complex data engineering challenges
- skilled in translating technical concepts into terms that non-technical stakeholders can easily understand
