Job Summary
To provide the necessary legal services as required/assigned (which includes the provision of legal advice/opinion in respect of the laws governed by the Commission, draft/review legal documents and draft/review legal instruments and the laws governed by the Commission) with a view of ensuring the interest and rights of the Commission are well safeguarded and the laws regulated remain relevant.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare the required legal advice on matters affecting the Commission, to ensure sound advice is provided in safeguarding the interests and rights of the Commission;
- Draft/vet legal instruments issued under the laws governed by the Commission, to ensure that the same are in order in terms of contents and processes, so as to avoid any legal challenges against the same;
- Liaise (as the key personnel) with the external legal counsel handling the litigious matters brought by and against the Commission, to ensure that the Commission's interests and rights are upheld; and
- Assess the need to develop of new laws and amend existing laws governed by the Commission, to ensure the same remains relevant and enforceable.
Qualification and Work Experience
- Candidate must possess at least an LLB (Hons) from a reputable university.
- A member of the Malaysian Bar will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 4-8 years of working experience with exposure in both corporate and litigation.
- Exposure to communications and multimedia laws will be an added advantage.
