Description
This role involves planning, teaching, and evaluating assigned classes based on the ELS Language Centers curriculum with the support of the Academic Director or Academic Coordinator. As an English Language Instructor, you will maintain student class records, fulfill administrative duties, and engage in professional development activities.
Job Duties
- Teach ELS academic programs as assigned.
- Prepare lesson plans, exercises, and tests.
- Evaluate and counsel students on classroom performance.
- Maintain a conducive classroom environment for learning.
- Coordinate attendance records and evaluations with other teachers.
- Communicate local policies to associate English Language Instructors.
- Complete administrative paperwork as needed.
- Maintain performance and attendance records.
- Manage Center resource materials and files.
- Refer non-academic issues to appropriate personnel.
- Participate in professional development activities and meetings.
- Support Associate English Language Instructors as needed.
- Develop or refine teaching materials at the local level.
- Engage in activities to share information about after-class activities.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a neat classroom and staff areas.
- Substitute in emergencies when necessary.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Education/TELF/TESOL, or BA/BSc Degree with CELTA or TEFL/TESOL (minimum 120-hour TESOL).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant ESL/EFL teaching experience (face-to-face and online).
- Country: Native English Speaker from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, or South Africa.
- Location: ELS Centres Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor Bahru.
