Handshakes is seeking a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As a Senior Data Engineer at Handshakes, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data architecture and driving our data strategy forward. You will be part of leading the design, development, and optimization of robust data pipelines, ensuring the seamless integration of data across the organization. Your expertise in SQL, Python, and Big Data technologies will be crucial in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights.

Responsibilities as a Senior Data Engineer include but will not be limited to:

• Designing and implementing efficient data solutions using SQL, Python and other relevant technologies

Building and maintaining robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data into our data warehouse

• Applying your deep Python, Typescript or scripting skills to automate processes and enhance the efficiency of data workflows

Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers while fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

To be successful in this role of a Senior Data Engineer, you would have:

• Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong command of SQL, Python and Big Data tools (such as Hadoop, Spark)

Proficiency in scripting and a strong understanding of RDBMS (SQL, NoSQL or MongoDB)

• Demonstrated understanding of data warehousing technologies and ETL processes

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is a plus)
