Job Description

Visibility & Health

Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and security of the Azure infrastructure.

Implement monitoring tools and dashboards to provide visibility into system performance and availability.

Proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure high availability and reliability..

Automation

Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Ansible.

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and ensure smooth operations.

Continuously improve automation processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Customer Service

Maintain an expert level of knowledge of Pickles infrastructure and Business Applications.

Adhere to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and project task allocations for completing assigned work

Ensure high availability of infrastructure services that support internal employee business functions and external customer contact

Troubleshoot and remediate 2nd and 3rd level issues impacting the operation of the business

Assist in the resolution of High Priority Incidents.

Cost Management

Optimize Azure resources to manage and reduce costs while maintaining performance and reliability.

Implement cost management practices and tools to track and control cloud spending.

Provide regular cost reports and insights to stakeholders.

Future Proofing

Work with team to agree and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Assist with the improvement, innovation and modernisation of our service delivery.

Maintain and keep up to date operational documentation.

Maintain Hardware and Software refresh cycles according to policy.

Requirement

IT Experience: 5-10 years in IT, with a strong focus on cloud and automation technologies.

Azure Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft Azure products and solutions, including:

Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

Azure networking (VNets), network peering, and related services

Azure Storage Accounts

Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and privileged access management

Azure Application Gateways

Azure API Management (APIM)

Azure Virtual Machines (VMs) and Virtual Machine Scale Sets (VMSS)

Infrastructure Automation: Proficient in using Ansible and Terraform for automating infrastructure deployment and management.

CI/CD Pipeline Development: Extensive experience in building and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines.

Scripting Skills: Ability to script and automate tasks using PowerShell or similar scripting languages.

Cloudflare Knowledge: Familiarity with Cloudflare is highly desirable.

Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, SolarWinds, and Dynatrace.

ITIL Experience: Knowledge of ITIL service management processes, including Change, Release, Problem, and Incident management.

Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service skills, with an emphasis on engagement, expectation management, and conflict resolution.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively report on complex technical issues.

Independence and Initiative: Ability to work with minimal supervision and proactively use initiative to solve problems.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
