About the Role:
Join our dynamic procurement team at Brooks as a Senior Buyer in the fast-paced semiconductor industry! We are looking for a dedicated professional to support our Greenfield manufacturing plant in Johor Bahru, Malaysia (and potentially our other sites across Asia). In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring essential materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality components.
You will be responsible for analyzing market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions, driving competitive advantage and securing high-quality materials for the site. The ideal candidate will have experience in the semiconductor industry (ideal, but not mandatory), with a proven track record of effective supplier management and cost-efficient purchasing strategies.

Work Location : This is an onsite role and requires the candidate to be based at our Johor Bahru factory.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining high-quality standards for materials and services.
Create and maintain strong relationships with vendors, monitoring performance and addressing any issues as they arise.
Track and manage stock levels and optimizing inventory to meet demand, using inventory management systems
Ensure purchase prices meet organizational requirements.
Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify potential opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Negotiate minimum order quantity (MOQ) pricing with suppliers.
Reschedule in & out requirements as driven by the ERP system
Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
Qualifications & Competencies :
Bachelors degree or equivalent, with at least 7 - 10 years of buying experience in purchasing metals, cables, sheet metal, machining parts and electrical devices a nd /or PCBA s (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies)
Strong skills in negotiating contracts, including pricing, delivery schedules, and terms of payment
Semiconductor industry experience will be highly preferred; similar manufacturing sector exposure such as automotive, industrial manufacturing etc. are also welcome to apply
Vendor management expertise ; experience in buying from and dealing with overseas and local suppliers
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Well-versed in inventory management techniques, including Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory, to minimize holding costs and ensure the availability of critical components.
Good analytical skills and proficiency with procurement software such as Oracle Procurement Cloud, or similar platforms to streamline purchasing processes and maintain meticulous records
