Our client is a leading technology company globally, currently hiring an experience accounting professional, that specializes in US GAAP and SEC accounting/data/reporting regulations, closely working with their US team, based in the Malaysia regional office.
Responsibilities
As the local expert in Malaysia, you will provide technical guidance and collaborate with the US-based team to maintain consistent methodologies across various accounting/data/reporting processes.
- Utilize your expertise in SEC regulations to ensure data is categorized according to US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC standards.
- Train and mentor junior team members on SEC/IFRS/US GAAP regulations related to data entry in audit analytics databases.
- Conduct regular quality checks on data entries to identify and correct discrepancies, and help implement data quality control measures.
- Stay informed on changes in SEC regulations and best practices, seeking professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge.
- Accurately enter and verify financial data, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, by cross-referencing with source documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. Professional certification is an advantage (CPA/ACCA etc).
- At least five years of relevant experience in accounting, specifically in technical US GAAP/SEC/IFRS accounting/data/reporting regulations. Internal/external audit preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
- Effective communication & presentation skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings.
