Job Description

JOB VACANCY

POSITION - SEA FREIGHT OPERATION MANAGER
LOCATION - BUKIT RIMAU, SHAH ALAM
SALARY - RM 10000-13000

Role & Responsibilities
- To head the Sea Freight Department, reporting to COUNTRY MANAGER, inclusive of Export, Import, declaration
team, outside operations.
- Make sure department is running smoothly at all times. Meaning manage workforce inclusive of leaves and
holidays, but also in terms of process, SOP, job segregation, etc
- Lead by example.
- Become tech savvy with all tools used in the department: Dagangnet, CMC, etc
- Ensure high quality of service of the sea freight department:
Meet operational KPI
Make suggestions for team improvement: hiring/demotion/termination/promotion/training/etc
Make suggestions and implement improved internal processes
Run monthly meetings with team and raise report to manager
Make use of CAR (corrective action report) and warning letters when need be.
Suggest any improvement identified.
- Pro-actively manage & build repo with external stakeholders: customers, government authorities, Port
authorities, customers, vendors, etc..
- Pro-actively handle & build repo internally: CS, finance, sales, other stations, management etc...
- To generate new SOPs to cater for new processes, continuously upgrade current SOPs to enhance operating
efficiency, and reduce cost and achieving KPI.
- To manage and control cost. Bring suggestions for improvement whenever possible.
- Prepare monthly management report (format to be provided later).
- Maintain and participated in teams objective to ensure accuracy, efficiency and timely responsiveness.
- Adheres to all corporate policy, guidelines and statutory requirements, adopt these changes, and incorporate into
the teams.
Education, Experience, Certification and Training requirements
- At least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Logistic/Transportation or equivalent.
- At least 4 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Preferably Managers specializing in Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent.

- Able to lead, manage and formulate business strategies.
- Organized and detailed oriented with strong people management skills.
- Good communications, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Able to effectively recruit, train, mentor and motivate colleagues.
- Ability to demonstrate effective delegation of responsibilities.
- Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft office suite.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM10,
  • 00 - RM13,000.00 per month
