Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Rapid Data Migration (RDM) expert to lead data migration efforts in SAP implementation and transformation projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of SAP data migration tools, methodologies, and best practices. This role involves designing, implementing, and executing data migration strategies to ensure accurate, seamless, and timely transfer of data across SAP landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Migration Planning and Strategy:
- Define and design SAP data migration strategies and plans based on project requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data sources, target data structures, and migration requirements
- Develop a clear data migration roadmap and timeline to meet project deadlines
- Data Mapping, Cleansing, and Validation:
- Conduct thorough data mapping between legacy systems and SAP using SAP Rapid Data Migration tools
- Work with business analysts to identify data cleansing requirements and execute data quality checks
- Validate data accuracy and completeness post-migration to ensure high data quality
- Tool Configuration and Execution:
- Utilize SAP Data Services, SAP Migration Cockpit, and/or SAP Rapid Data Migration tools for efficient data transfer
- Configure and customize migration tools according to project-specific data fields and structures
- Monitor data migration activities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth data flow into SAP
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Reporting:
- Collaborate closely with functional and technical teams, including business users, data owners, and SAP project managers
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data migration processes, configurations, and test results
- Provide regular status reports, data migration metrics, and risk assessments to project stakeholders
- Testing and Post-Migration Support:
- Lead data migration testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing
- Address data-related issues during testing phases and resolve any discrepancies or errors
- Provide post-migration support and ensure data integrity and functionality in the SAP environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in SAP data migration with hands-on experience in SAP Rapid Data Migration tools
- Proficiency in SAP Data Services, SAP Migration Cockpit, and LSMW
- Deep knowledge of data governance, data quality standards, and best practices for data migration
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration projects is a strong plus
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in SAP Data Migration or SAP S/4HANA
- Experience with industry-specific data migration, such as retail, manufacturing, or logistics
- Familiarity with data integration tools and techniques in SAP environments
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
