To deliver duties as stated in OSHA 1994 (Amendment 2022), Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Officer) Regulations 1997, Part V-Duties of Safety and Health Officers, Regulation 18-Duties of Safety and health officer.- Monitor the site daily safety observation and inspection which include immediate rectification of unsafe act/ unsafe condition encountered at the work site.
Ensure that Safe Working Practices are observed and complied with by all staff/ workers working at the project site.
- To enforce company safety management system together with clients in-house EHS requirements.
Ensure that all staff and subcontractors workers are using suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working at the worksite.- To compile and trend down daily Safety Inspection programs and prepares weekly EHS performance report for project management review.
To maintain projects EHS KPI.
- Carry out Safety Toolbox Meeting for the subcontracts workers.
Organize / conduct safety Induction to new workers / subcontractors workers from time to time.- To lead the Inspection program for the worksite machineries and equipment those are being utilized at the site to ensure compliance to the project site safety requirements.
Lead incident/ accident investigation and reporting.
- Attend and participate in project meetings which involving matters related EHS concerns.
To be a secretary of Projects Safety & Health Committee and lead EHS department in promoting safety, health and environment provisions.- To be a team player and proactive in promoting safety, health and environmental matters at the workplace.
Report to Project Manager and EHS Manager pertaining to the site safety, health and environmental matters.
- May participate in the delivery of related educational programs and disseminates information to the workers.
Prepares various reports, documents and forms.- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Environmental/ Health/ Safety) or equivalent.- Must possess a valid JKKP Green Book and registered with DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety & Health)
At least 5 years working experience.- Experience to assist management and EHS Manager in all safety and health aspects
- Technical & Professional Knowledge:
Possess site experience / exposure Able to develop EHS program, plan and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point (intermediate level)
Strong commitment and passion in delivering results
- Be able to work flexible hours, work with tight schedules
Able to liaise effectively with client, authorities, contractors
