• Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Chemical, Mechanical or Safety Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. The EHS Engineer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, developing and implementing EHS programs, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

• Key Responsibilities:

Primary Role: Focuses on designing and implementing engineering controls to ensure safety.

• Responsibilities:

- Develop safety systems and procedures

- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis

- Design safety features for equipment and facilities

- Ensure compliance with safety standards in design and engineering processes

• Educational Background: Typically requires a degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, etc.) with a specialization in HSE.

Skill Set:

- Strong engineering and technical skills

- Ability to design and implement safety systems

- Knowledge of industry-specific safety standards

- Project management skills

• Scope of Work: More focused on the technical and engineering aspects of safety, such as designing safe systems and processes.

Position in Hierarchy: Often holds a higher-level position within the safety department, involved in strategic planning and system design.

• Certifications: May require engineering-specific certifications along with HSE certifications.

Industry Application: Common in industries with significant engineering components such as construction, manufacturing, oil and gas.

• Focus: Proactive approach by designing out hazards.

Project Involvement: Involved in the design and planning stages of projects to integrate safety measures.

• Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Safety Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in [industry/sector].

Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence others.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) are a plus.
