Job Overview: The Retail Management Lecturer is responsible for delivering engaging and industry-relevant instruction to students pursuing studies in retail management. The ideal candidate will have a degree in retail, business, or a related field, along with substantial experience in the retail industry. This role involves developing curriculum, teaching, and mentoring students to prepare them for successful careers in retail management.
Develop and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions on various aspects of retail management, including operations, marketing, customer service, merchandising, and supply chain management.
- Create and update course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments, ensuring alignment with current industry trends and best practices.
Provide students with real-world insights and practical examples from the retail industry.- Mentor and guide students through their academic journey, including offering career advice and supporting student projects.
Assess and grade students work, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in the retail industry and integrate relevant industry knowledge into the curriculum.
Collaborate with other faculty members and industry professionals to enhance the retail management curriculum.- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development activities.
Engage in research or consultancy activities related to retail management, as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of academic programs and the overall student experience.
A Bachelors or Masters degree in Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in the retail industry, with a minimum of 5-10 years in retail management or a related role.
Strong understanding of retail operations, customer behavior, and industry trends.- Prior teaching or training experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
