Job Description

The Experienced Restaurant/Caf Manager will leverage their extensive background in the hospitality industry to oversee and optimize the daily operations of the establishment. This role demands a proven track record in managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving financial performance. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insights, leadership, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards in food quality and cleanliness.
  • Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee all aspects of restaurant/caf operations with a focus on efficiency and profitability.
Implement and refine operational procedures to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Optimize inventory management to reduce costs and minimize waste, leveraging previous experience to improve processes.
Advanced Customer Service:
  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience by maintaining high service standards.
Proactively address and resolve customer complaints, drawing on past experience to implement effective solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze customer feedback, using it to inform service improvements and staff training.
Experienced Staff Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of staff, ensuring high morale and productivity.
Use experience in recruitment and training to build a strong team capable of delivering excellent service.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for professional development.
Strategic Financial Management:
  • Monitor and manage the financial health of the restaurant/caf, including sales, expenses, and profit margins.
Develop and manage budgets, using financial acumen to identify and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Handle cash management processes, ensuring accuracy and security, with experience in balancing and auditing financial records.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure full compliance with all health and safety regulations, drawing on extensive knowledge of industry standards.
Maintain a safe, clean, and inviting environment for both customers and staff.
  • Lead staff training on food safety and hygiene, ensuring adherence to best practices.
Marketing and Business Development:
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies based on market trends and customer preferences.
Leverage experience in event planning and promotion to increase foot traffic and revenue.
  • Manage the restaurant/cafs online presence, including social media and review sites, to enhance reputation and attract new customers.
Menu Innovation and Quality Control:
  • Collaborate with chefs to develop and refine the menu, ensuring it aligns with customer expectations and market trends.
Implement quality control measures to ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation.
  • Analyze sales data and customer preferences to make data-driven decisions about menu adjustments.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, using negotiation skills to secure favorable terms.
Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of high-quality supplies, drawing on experience to manage vendor performance effectively.
  • Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Restaurant/Caf Manager or in a similar high-responsibility role.
  • Deep understanding of business management, financial principles, and industry regulations.
Proven leadership and team management experience, with a history of achieving operational goals.
  • Strong customer service background with a focus on enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Expertise in food safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in POS systems, financial software, and management tools.
  • Preferred Skills:
Experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
  • Advanced culinary knowledge and experience in menu development.
Proficiency in digital marketing, including social media management.
  • Education:
A degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional certifications in restaurant management or food safety are a plus.
