Job Description
- Resident Electrical Engineer to report to the Lead Project Manager and will provide feedback to the Client
- Resident Electrical Engineer to be on site to assist the Client and General Contractor on construction of the projects in a timely manner.
- Conduct daily site walks to review progress, general quality of works, raise quality observations and provide updates to the project team.
- Review the agreed Inspection and Test Plan which will be developed by the General Contractor and provided to the Resident Engineer. Direction on quality and design to be directly through the Client.
- Attend Project meetings, and set up ad-hoc meeting with the GC/Design Consultants and any other project related stakeholders
- Inspection of trenches, pits, voids, cable trays/ raceways, jointing, panels, cabling terminations as per the agreed Inspection and Test Plan as issued to the General Contractor.
- Provide Weekly Reports on the site progress including but not limited to, metrics on mock-ups / benchmarks, RFI's, Technical
- Conduct Equipment Installation to ensure all equipment are installed as per approved shop drawings and technical specifications.
- Prepare Installation Inspection Report (IIR) highlighting any non-conformance. Follow up with contractor for rectification and close-out.
- Issue Non-Conformance report (NCR) to General Contractor with information to CM where contractor is not complying with project contract drawings, approved shop drawings and specification. Follow up the timely closure of NCRs with the contractor.
- The report shall also highlight any critical risks on the construction schedule.
- Monitor General Contractor's construction activities and log activities in a weekly report
- Verify all work in place confirms to contract documents. Verify and input discrepancies found in to Procore and note in the weekly report
- Verify As-Built drawings have been created, regularly updated, and uploaded into Procore by the General Contractor. Verify BIM model has been created, regularly updated, and uploaded into Procore by the GC.
- Attend Client, Architect, and Contractor (OAC) weekly meetings. One CMS representative must physically attend meetings, other representatives may attend physically or virtually. Topics to be discussed during the OAC meeting
- In coordination with the GC's QC Plan, attend and provide input to the meetings
- Continuous management of Procore. Verify the following information is up to date and correct
- Continuous review and tracking of submittal register.
- Assess GC means and methods for compliance with the most stringent requirement of applicable global, national, and local standards, and immediately notify Client of any deficiencies.
- Evaluate the proper levels of protection during construction for equipment and systems and GC maintains Client's minimum standards outlines in the Equipment Protection Plan.
- Evaluate that the final installed product has been installed, checked inspected, and signed off, in order to proceed into commissioning.
- Record each and every defect/issue found as an Observation on Procore.
- Communicate safety observations to GCs daily and engage constantly to ensure issues are addressed and closed. Record these finding on Procore.
- Participate in GCs incident investigation and ensure that root cause is established and addressed with the effective control measures.
- Attend GCs safety committee meetings.
- Monitor and ensure that the General Contractor and Client's separate contractors on site (Separate Contractors), along with the base building and site developer (if any), and any suppliers of Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment and other members of the Project Team are coordinated. Prevent scheduling issues and interference among the Project Team
Qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Must have at least 10 years of experience working in large industrial projects and High Voltage of 132kw and above
- Advanced knowledge and proven delivery on Engineering Electrical system and scopes.
- Understanding of the potential implications of design changes/site instructions in relation to the key aspects identified above.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English, and presentation skills are a must.
- Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with challenging timelines, budget and goals.
- Be capable of working in a close, multi-faceted team environment.
- Have an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and willingness to continuously learn.
- Ability to train and mentor colleagues on best practices for project management and execution.
- Those who has Data Centre and High Tech Manufacturing construction experience will be an added avantage.
