(I) Overview
The Master of Central Banking Program and the Central Banking Research Centre at the Asia School of Business are searching for an Academic Associate/Research Assistant (AA/RA) to join the team. The position is a three-year fixed-term position based at the Asia School of Business Campus in Kuala Lumpur.
(II) Key Responsibilities
AA/RA is expected to contribute to the preparation of teaching material and research projects. Some administrative tasks such as seminar or conference organization is also required. More specifically, typical responsibilities include the following:
- Conduct literature reviews
- Collect and analyze data
- Write and maintain programs in specialized software (preferably in R, and additionalsoftwares)
- Prepare material to assist in teaching
- Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations
- Help organizing seminars and workshops/conferences
(III) Education Background
- Master's Degree holder in Economics is preferred and/or Bachelor's Degree holder(from appropriately accredited institutions).
- Background of your Master's and/or Bachelor's and your expertise must include, some ora combination, of the following: Economics, econometrics analysis, statistics and dataanalysis.
- Competent programmer in specialized softwares such as R, Matlab, Python or Stata andwillingness to learn new programming languages.
(IV) Preferred Qualifications
3 to 5 years direct experience. Candidate with research and academic experience would bedesirable. Strong interest in academic writing is also desirable.
