Report to Director (Research Department)
(1) Gather information and data to write reports and drafts in Japanese or other appropriate (local) language on Malaysian economy (GDP, trade, MIDA approved investments, annual automotive sales), and other ad-hoc subjects. Also to provide information-research support for reports written by the Director. In addition, provide guidance and supervision as matters arise.
(2) Amend the English translation of JETROs annual survey report and JACTIM-JETROs joint annual survey report.
(3) Review outsourced JETRO reports to screen for data/factual errors, etc.
(4) Review various monthly, annual and biennial numerical/data reports prepared by the Research Assistant before submission to JETROs headquarters / publication on JETROs website checking for data errors, etc.
(5) Update monthly briefing materials on the economy and major political news in Malaysia (in Japanese).
(6) Upon discussion with superiors, plan and manage events such as JETRO business seminars / healthcare seminars / Malaysia-Japan collaboration on smart manufacturing events, prepare for various documents such as MD speech draft, emcee draft and support, event pamphlet, communication with external local speakers, overall flow of the events, etc.
(7) To attend various government events (policy announcements, etc.), external seminars or lectures by research groups, etc., and to take notes (memo) for information sharing within the organization as well as for report writing purpose.
(8) To request and arrange for interview/exchange of opinions with external think-tank.
(9) To represent JETRO in conducting presentations and/or give speeches in appropriate (local) language when invited as an external speaker to share JETROs activities.
(10) Regarding various external inquiries, to conduct desktop research and provide appropriate responses to external parties, or provide guidance to subordinates responses. Analyze and put to practical use information from the inquiries and the results from their responses.
(11) Making internal approval documents.
(12) Collect and process statistical data to make tables and/or graphs with MS Excel/PowerPoint. Also to gather various non-numerical information online as requested.
(13) To write official letters to Malaysian government/organizations, trade organization or VVIPs.
(14) Arrange for meeting appointments and hold business matching sessions between Malaysian and Japanese companies, etc.
(15) Liaising with the Malaysian Government and other local entities in order to gather necessary information in a timely manner and for networking purpose.
(16) Managing numerous annual subscriptions and ensure timely renewals and payments.
(17) Provide support to research Director while giving guidance to research assistants.
(18) To communicate between Japanese platform coordinator (healthcare) and JETROs local office/HQ under JETROs SME Platform service, and to sit in for online meetings taking notes for reference purpose, review reports before submission, etc.
(19) To be in charge of visa applications, renewals and cancellation of all expatriates in JETRO KL, liaising with external parties.
(20) Other ad-hoc duties as required.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
MUST TO HAVE:
(1) At least 3 years working experience in economics, research, statistical analysis, financial analysis or related areas
(2)Microsoft office ,Excel, Word, PPT
(3) Japanese (JLPT N1), especially writing skill is required
(4) English and Mandarin
